The White House Office and Management and Budget rescinded the memo freezing all federal loans and grants. The memo had caused widespread confusion among lawmakers, federal agencies, states, local communities and organizations that rely on federal funding.
The rescission memo issued Wednesday briefly stated, “OMB Memorandum M-25-13 is rescinded. If you have any questions about implementing the President’s Executive Orders, please contact your agency General Counsel.” It was signed by Acting OMB Director Matthew Vaeth.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the administration will continue its efforts to “end the egregious waste of federal funding,” as NPR reported.
