Army’s Expansion Can Train Thousands of More Recruits Per Year

February 4, 2025

The Army will have 10 more basic training units by April. The units at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and Fort Sill, Oklahoma will allow the service to send 9,600 more recruits through basic training per year, Military.com reported.

“Expanding basic training capacity is a result of successful recruiting efforts and the Future Soldier Preparatory Course,” Lt. Gen. David Francis, commander for the U.S. Army Center for Initial Military Training, said. “This is a great problem to have as we continue to train the most capable and lethal soldiers for our Army.”
