DOD is sending an additional 3,000 troops to the U.S.-Mexico border to support immigration policies, AP reported.
Fort Carson, Colorado is sending 2,400 soldiers, and about 500 will deploy from Fort Stewart, Georgia according to U.S. Northern Command.
There are already more than 9,000 U.S. military personnel at the southern border, included 4,200 deployed under federal orders and about 5,000 National Guard troops sent by governors.
