Georgia Base Opens New Battle Laboratory in Collaboration with Nearby College 

An Army story recently covered the opening of a cutting-edge battle lab at Fort Moore, Georgia (which will be redesignated as Fort Benning), where service members can collaborate with students of the nearby Columbus State University. The Maneuver Innovation Lab gives soldiers the resources to prototype and test solutions to problems they face in the field and strengthens ties with the surrounding community. 

New Jersey Navy Base Breaks Ground on Upgraded Runway 

Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, has broken ground on upgrades that will include new landing and control tower systems, NAVAIR reported. The new facilities will allow it to work with unmanned craft currently being used on legacy aircraft carriers and will one day ideally facilitate unmanned sea platforms.
