Georgia Museum Hosts Free Air Force Education Day for Families

The Museum of Aviation in Georgia recently hosted Family Aviation Day, a free event that saw more than 5,000 visitors and gave them the opportunity to speak with airmen from Robins Air Force Base and explore historic aircraft. Veterans came out to share their personal experiences as well, and the museum’s National STEM Academy provided explorations for kids to get them interested in future STEM careers.

“Family Aviation Day isn’t just about showcasing aircraft—it’s about bringing people together,” said Karen Ross, services director for the Museum of Aviation Foundation.

Virginia Soldiers Visit Nats Park to Learn Operations

An Army story recently covered Fort Belvoir, Virginia’s visit to the Washington Nationals Park to meet with the baseball team’s security staff. The free tour helped soldiers prepare for operations and security processes while also sharing their own experiences and expertise.

“Engaging with the community, and showing that the Army is not insular, but we stretch outside our scope and outside of the influence of our chain of command really connects people to the community and helps people stay engaged,” Capt. Jack Morrissey said.
