Virginia Base Launches ‘Defense Community Enclave Initiative’
Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia, met recently with local community leaders, announcing their new “Defense Community Enclave Initiative.” The initiative would allow the public to access the on-base museum and eventually provide public access to the site’s indoor aquatic center, Army reported.
“By opening our museums to the public, we will not only preserve and share our military history but also foster a deeper connection between Fort Gregg-Adams and the local community,” said Maj. Gen. Michelle K. Donahue, Army Combined Arms Support Command and Fort Gregg-Adams commanding general.
Microgrid Construction Begins at Guam Navy Base
The Navy recently awarded a $97 million contract to construct a new microgrid energy storage system at Polaris Point, Guam, Microgrid Knowledge reported. The new 17,000 square foot facility will connect with the current grid and give the base extra energy resilience and redundancy. The project is projected to be completed in 2028.
