Former Illinois Base Still Requires Funding for Environmental Cleanup

CU-Citizens Access recently reported on the state of the former Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Illinois, a location the Air Force has moved out of completely after $200 million spent on environmental cleanup efforts. The Air Force has acknowledged that the base still needs $76 million in further cleanup work, but it is unclear when that will take place.
