Retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Dan “Razin” Caine told senators Tuesday he would not bring politics to his job if he is confirmed as Joint Chiefs chair.
“I’ve always strived to do the right thing and that’s not going to change now,” Caine said, Reuters reported, calling the Armed Services hearing “uncontentious.”
President Trump fired Gen. CQ Brown from the position abruptly. Caine would be the first person brought out of retirement to fill the job.
