Navy Releases Positive Preliminary PFAS Study Results in New York

The Navy has collected early results from a PFAS testing effort in Calverton, New York, near the site of the former Naval Weapons Industrial Reserve Plant, according to a DVIDS story. The preliminary conclusion from these tests is that PFAS levels are below the EPA standard, meaning they are safe for residents. The only test to raise alarms about PFAS levels was conducted in 2019, but more tests are being conducted to ensure the safety of the locals.

Colorado Base Trains with Law Enforcement for Improvised Explosives

Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams from Fort Carson, Colorado trained with law enforcement and airport security personnel to prepare for dangerous improvised explosive scenarios. The four-day training exercise conducted at both Fort Carson and the Colorado Springs Airport helped each group refine their operating procedures. The EOD team at Fort Carson has plans to train with the El Paso Bomb Squad and others in a future exercise, the Army reported.
