Defense community leaders will gather with federal decision-makers in D.C. July 24 for an ADC members-only discussion about the national security challenges facing the U.S. homefront and the evolving role communities play in overcoming them.

The theme of this year’s policy-centered ADC Connect is “National Security Starts at Home.”

It will include panel discussions such as “The Homeland Is No Longer a Sanctuary” and “How Are Communities & Installations Responding?” The half-day event will also feature an interactive session for attendees to talk about challenges in their communities.

“As threats to the homeland grow—ranging from drones and cyberattacks to foreign influence and infrastructure vulnerabilities—defense is no longer just an overseas mission. These risks are real and increasingly local,” the event website says. “Meeting them requires a coordinated, whole-of-government and whole-of-nation approach.”
