FBI Charges Chinese Nationals with Spying on Military Base, Recruits

July 3, 2025

The FBI has charged two Chinese nationals of spying on the Navy, as Military Times reported. They are accused of trying to recruit service members, attempting to spy on a Washington state installation and visiting a San Gabriel, California Navy recruitment center to get personal information on potential recruits.

“This case underscores the Chinese government’s sustained and aggressive effort to infiltrate our military and undermine our national security from within,” Attorney General Pamela Bondi said in a press release.

One is a permanent legal resident of Ohio, and the other is visiting on a tourist visa.
