Redstone Official Lays Out Space Command Move Timeline
A deputy to the Redstone Arsenal, Alabama garrison commander said Huntsville will begin absorbing Space Command headquarters personnel and missions in the coming months, AL.com reported. He predicted that the command can be operational during the Trump administration and that it would take up to seven years to complete permanent infrastructure.
President Trump announced this week that the Space Command headquarters would move from Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Military Spouses Meet at California Base to Share Concerns
A Marine Corps story recently covered a town hall hosted at Camp Pendleton, California that brought together military spouses. The event was hosted by two military spouses on the base and provided an opportunity for spouses to be heard regarding important defense issues such as housing and security.
“We want Marines and their families to stay in long enough to experience the changes we’re working toward,” said Master Sgt. (Ret.) Andrea Ruiz, one of the event hosts. “Their voices matter, and we’re listening.”
New Readiness Center Breaks Ground in Oregon
Hillsboro, Oregon will be home to a new National Guard readiness center, Hillsboro Herald reported. The $30 million facility will be 45,000 square feet and will be near the Hillsboro armory, which has been a part of the community since 1954.
“This new readiness center will allow our Guard members to have a continued presence in the Hillsboro community, the same community in which they work and live,” Oregon Adjutant General Brig. Gen. Alan R. Gronewold said.
