Colorado Base Hosts Hiring Our Heroes Event

Fort Carson, Colorado recently hosted its annual Hiring our Heroes career event, bringing in 85 employers who were interested in hiring active military and military spouses. The event included a networking event at Peterson Space Force Base and a presentation on how to best prepare for the job market. Hundreds of soldiers and military spouses attended the event, according to an Army story.

Walter Reed’s State-of-the-Art Simulation Center

A press release looked at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center’s Simulation Center, which trains medical staff in various real-world scenarios. The training mannequin used in the center has a simulated heartbeat and pulses and even breathes to accurately simulate different operations. Walter Reed’s Simulation Department has multiple simulation rooms for different scenarios, including one with projected images to place students on simulated battlefields.

Illinois University Students Send Care Kits to Service Members

University of Illinois, Springfield recently held an event to put together care packages for active-duty military members, WAND News reported. Students gathered to send fun items like games and snacks to 1,000 service members.
