Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has authorized up to 600 DOD attorneys to serve temporarily as immigration judges as the administration looks to clear a yearslong backlog of immigration hearings, according to AP, which cited a DOD memo.
The memo gives the military services until next week to identify 150 uniformed and civilian attorneys to send to the Department of Justice, the report said.
