The Senate voted 84-14 Tuesday night to proceed with debate on the National Defense Authorization Act over the coming days.
The Senate’s version of the bill would authorize $925 billion in defense spending, including a military pay raise. The authorized spending level is higher than the version the House is expected to consider next week, as Fox News reported.
Both bills are likely to be less contentious than last year’s NDAA, which included a wide range of provisions on cultural issues.
