Top congressional leaders are meeting with President Trump at the White House this afternoon, as Washington begins preparing for an increasingly likely government shutdown tomorrow night.

The House has passed a seven-week extension of current government spending, which would require some Democratic support to clear the Senate. Democrats almost unanimously oppose the plan and want any spending agreement to include health care provisions.

DOD released initial plans over the weekend for how the department’s operations will change if there is a lapse in appropriations. The guidance outlines potential changes to PCS moves, temporary duty travel, civilian employees, contractors and more.
