Missouri Army Members Prepare for Flood Response 

Kansas City, Missouri recently hosted a flood preparedness event, bringing together federal, state, tribal, and military units for training to react swiftly during a flood. The two day “blue-sky” event taught attendees things like how to properly assemble flood barriers but also started forging the community connections necessary to stay coordinated during a disaster event. 

San Diego Charities Band Together to Support Military Families 

After the recent government shutdown, a collection of San Diego non-profits gathered to announce their efforts to support military members, their families, and veterans during the lack of pay. Non-profits in the community recently united under an umbrella organization called the Emergency Action Group, KPBS reported, and now they will be providing food and financial support for military personnel.
