Vance Promises Paychecks for Service Members

October 30, 2025

Vice President J.D. Vance told reporters Tuesday that service members will be paid Friday like usual, AP reported.

“We do think that we can continue paying the troops, at least for now,” Vance said. “We’ve got food stamp benefits that are set to run out in a week. We’re trying to keep as much open as possible. We just need the Democrats to actually help us out.”

The government shutdown is now the second-longest in U.S. history with few signs of the two parties negotiation an end.
