Two former drone racers recently scored a coveted drone making contract from the Army, the New York Times reported. Soren Monroe-Anderson, now 22, the company he cofounded has acquired a sought-after contract for producing drones.
Producing drones has become a key issue for defense leadership, and the new contract brings in more innovative minds to help compete with adversaries across the globe.
This contract comes after Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced changes to the military acquisition processes, hoping to limit bureaucracy and bring in new faces for military contracts based on “speed and volume above all else,” as On Base recently reported.
