House and Senate negotiators hope to finalize a compromise defense authorization bill this week, Defense One and Roll Call reported.
House Armed Services Committee Chair Mike Rogers (R-Ala.) said he expects the House to vote on the bill the week after Thanksgiving. Rep. Rob Wittman (R-Va.), a senior member of the committee, predicted it would on the floor the week after that, adding that the final language is almost done.
“I think that those will hopefully be done by the end of the week, and then the bill will be in its final form,” Wittman told Defense One.
The House is expected to vote before the Senate.
