Military members received their end-of-month paychecks last week despite the ongoing government shutdown.
The $5.3 million to pay service members came from three different sources: half from the Big Beautiful Bill funding and the other two chunks from DOD’s procurement and R&D funds, Defense News reported.
While service members have been paid through October, it is unlikely that pay will continue if the shutdown is not resolved by Nov. 15, as available funds used over the past month have been exhausted.
The shutdown is set tonight to become the longest in U.S. history, as Fox News reported.
