Air Force Secretary Troy Meink and Chief of Staff Gen. Ken Wilsbach recently announced plans to change the service’s optimization plan put in place during the Biden administration, Defense News reported.
The changes will keep some previous decisions, such as large-scale training exercises, but cancel others. The new Air Force Integrated Capabilities Command, planned to help centralize priorities, will instead be adapted as part of Air Forces Future.
The announcement states that no new air base wings will be created going forward, but that ones already created under the reoptimization plan will remain.
