The House plans to vote this week on NDAA conference report language that was released over the weekend. That would give the Senate next week to consider the bill before Congress’ holiday break.
According to House Armed Services Committee documents and media report, the bill authorizes:
- 3.8% pay raise for service members
- Expansion of military bonuses and special pay
- A required study on the Basic Allowance for Housing calculation
- More than $1.5 billion for new construction of barracks and family housing
- More than $491 million to build new childcare development centers
- More than $131 million for new dining facility construction
- More than $335 million to renovate medical facilities
- More than $206 million to build new schools
- $50 million in Impact Aid assistance to public schools teaching military dependents
- Increased access for recruiters at secondary and post-secondary schools
- $26 billion for shipbuilding
- The use of multiyear contracts to accelerate military construction
- Construction of the Golden Dome
- Repeal of any diversity, equity and inclusion efforts in DOD
“The FY26 NDAA delivers on President Trump’s promise of peace through strength and ensures America can deter our adversaries and protect our homeland,” House Armed Services Committee Chair Mike Rogers (R-Ala.) said.
