New York Base Hosted Run Before Thanksgiving Dinner

Fort Drum, New York hosted its annual Turkey Trot and followed it up with a Thanksgiving dinner at the installation’s common building, The Peak. Service members who were apart from their families could gather for food with community members who joined in the festivities.

“I think what makes this event so special every year is the fact that we know there are soldiers and families here that are not able to go home for Thanksgiving, so we are their family for the day,” Becky Morgia, Fort Drum FMWR Business and Community Recreation Division chief, said in an Army report.
