Space Force Base Increases Anti-Drone Measures

Cape Canaveral, Florida is set to increase drone protections in the coming weeks, according to a Breaking Defense report. Announced at the recent AI + Space conference, the base will be installing a “multi-million dollar counter-UAS system,” combatting the hundreds of drone incursions that happen over the 18,000 acres of the installation.

Fort Bragg Hosts Holiday Suicide Prevention Event

The Army Substance Abuse Program recently hosted the second annual Snow Globe of Hope event at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, which provided resources for service members, including promoting the suicide and crisis lifeline. The Suicide Prevention team initially created the event in response to winter months having statistically higher suicide rates.

“Not everyone feels ‘jolly’ during this time of year,” Jamila Ford, Fort Bragg suicide prevention program coordinator, said in an Army report. “Providing support shows soldiers and families that they don’t have to face these feelings alone. It’s about reminding everyone that they matter and that help is always within reach, especially during times of increased vulnerability.”
