The Commander, Navy Installations Command recently announced new funding to go toward sailors’ quality of life, including $75 million in targeted improvements and another $300 million in more general major sustainment projects.
“Quality of service is inseparable from readiness,” Vice Adm. Scott Gray, commander of Navy Installations Command, said in a press release. “Providing safe, comfortable and clean housing is not optional. It is a responsibility we owe to every sailor who volunteers to serve.”
Six older barracks were named specifically for modernization updates, while 50 more installations will be seeing upgrades as well.
