California Launch Site Partners with Academia on Environmental Impact
Vandenberg Space Force Base, California has partnered with Brigham Young University and California State University Bakersfield to study the sonic impact of rocket launches, according to a Space Force report. The program has already observed 23 rocket launches and taken data on the sonic impacts on the surrounding environment, pairing it with state-of-the-art simulations.
Puerto Rico Base Plans for Disaster Training
Fort Buchanan, Puerto Rico brought together leaders to prepare for a disaster training exercise. According to an Army report, the installation has an upcoming full-scale emergency exercise that will simulate real-world response to a disaster. Bringing together leaders from local communities, the Puerto Rico National Guard, the FBI, and the local Army Reserve prepared the group for the communication and cooperation required to complete the simulation successfully.
