Army Corps Plants Cypress on Georgia Shore 

The Army Corps of Engineers in Savannah, Georgia planted trees along the coast of Storm Thurmond Lake, helping to preserve the land stability and provide a habitat for local wildlife. The choice of cypress trees helps prevent erosion due to the plants’ extensive root network. The trees also help boaters steer clear of the shallower waters during times of flooding, according to an Army report. 

Corvias Launches College Connection Website 

As a part of its 20th anniversary initiative, the Corvias Foundation has launched College Connection, a resource for military students to connect them with qualified experts and application advice. The website also connects students with the Purple Tassel Program, which helps students identify their interests and turn them into potential career paths, according to a press release.
