Infrastructure, AI, Cyber: The New Energy and Water Threats

February 25, 2026

One takeaway from last month’s ADC Installation Energy & Water Forum: Military and community needs and relationships around energy and water have shifted in the several years since ADC last held a similar forum several years ago.

“As AI, autonomy, advanced manufacturing and digital systems reshape defense operations, installations are facing unprecedented demand for reliable electricity, water supply and secure infrastructure,” one speaker said at the January event in Arlington, Virginia, attended by almost 300. “At the same time, aging systems, rising costs and cyber threats are increasing risk.”

That is one insight in ADC’s post-event summary, which features highlights from each session of the daylong event, along with live poll results on what community leaders consider most important on energy and water issues.

The forum was presented in collaboration with event partner Utility Privatization Partners and content partner Converge Strategies. Sponsors were ASUS, ADC’s Official Water Sponsor, and American Water.

The conversation on these topics will continue at ADC50 and beyond.
