The Pentagon recently called for the development of sensors that can detect drone incursions on military bases, Defense News reported.
A Defense Innovation Unit solicitation for the project calls for a radar solution to detect drones weighing less than 20 pounds, as well as an option flexible enough to be transported in a battlefield scenario.
Proposals are due Feb. 26. Selected proposals are to be tested at Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona in one month of notification, with the Pentagon pushing to have the project completed this spring.
