March 19, 2026

Golden Dome director Gen. Michael Guetlein announced that the project will receive $10 billion in extra funding in order to speed up the development of tracking technology, Air & Space Forces Magazine reported.

“We were asked to accelerate some space capabilities to move the current program schedules from the right to the left,” Guetlein said at McAleese & Associates’ Defense Programs Conference. “They gave us $10 billion extra to accelerate those capabilities with the United States Space Force.”

The extra funding brings the total cost of the Golden Dome to $185 billion, $23 billion of which has already been allocated from last year’s Big Beautiful Bill.
