New Jersey Base Honors Local Food Bank

In honor of all the work they did to support the military community during last year’s government shutdown, the Army Reserve’s 99th Readiness Division awarded a certificate of appreciation to the Food Bank of South Jersey. According to an Army report, the food bank runs a food pantry on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, which supported service members who were missing pay during the shutdown.

“It’s not only what you did for our soldiers, but what you do here on a daily basis to take care of our communities as well,” Deputy Commanding General John D. Rhodes said.
