The Washington Post reported that the Pentagon is considering redirecting weapons originally meant for Ukraine to the Middle East to support the war with Iran.
The potential shift comes as the war with Iran stretches into its fifth week, putting pressure on U.S. weapons manufacturers to keep up with increased demand.
Funding for some of the munitions sent to Ukraine came through a new NATO initiative that allowed NATO allies to buy U.S. arms on behalf of Ukraine. It is unclear how this shift would affect munitions funding in the future.
