$50,000 Annual Bonuses Offered to Air Force Members

The Air Force is offering annual bonuses to airmen to stay in the service, up to $50,000 a year for 12 years, Task & Purpose reported. The initiative is aimed at incentivizing aviators to stay with the force instead of joining the private sector. 

“Our airmen are extremely talented, with critical skills that are highly sought after,” said Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Ken Wilsbach in an Air Force release. “The aviation bonus is an incentive that helps us retain expertise and ensures we have the right mix of experienced aviators to meet warfighting demands today and into the future.”  

About 3,200 airmen are eligible for the bonus, with the deadline to apply on May 31.
