Hawaii Base Relocates Local Albatross
Biologists and community partners at the Pacific Missile Rance Facility in Hawaii are working to relocate Laysan Albatross through the Laysan Albatross Translocation Program. According to a Navy report, the birds can be hazardous to pilots. Nests are relocated from dangerous locations and moved to the northern shore of the island, where they reintegrate with a new flock of birds.
Transgender Service Members Host Award Dinner
The Human Rights Campaign hosted the annual Albert Cashier Awards to recognize the work current and former transgender servicemembers do for their communities, The Advocate reported. Speakers touched on the continued legal battle to protect transgender members’ right to protect the country and the importance of maintaining strong community.
