Veterans Affairs Brings Cancer Care to Rural Tennessee Community
The Department of Veterans Affairs has designated the Pointe Centre VA Clinic in Chattanooga, Tennessee as a Close to Me cancer site, bringing in oncology care to help support veterans in the community. A Veterans Health Administration report says the program will help veterans in remote areas access treatment faster, which is even more crucial for the veteran population who are more likely to develop cancer.
Hawaii Base Provides Dental Training for Military Families
Fort Shafter, Hawaii hosted the Red Cross Dental Assistant Program, providing no-cost education to military family members to gain valuable skills. The program partners with Bhaskar Dental Clinics to provide seven to 10 months of training, with both classroom learning and hands-on experience. The program has graduated 16 participants and has led to careers on post for military spouses, according to an Army report.
