VA Defense Forum Brings in Community Voices 

The recent Virginia Defense Forum hosted more than 200 defense leaders from the local community, industry, and installations in Norfolk, Virginia. The event focused on the theme “Readiness Begins Locally,” and sessions covered the needs of installations and how communities can step up to fill the gap. 

“The Virginia Defense Forum demonstrated what makes the commonwealth such a critical pillar of national defense: alignment,” Hampton Roads Executive Director Rick Dwyer told ADC. “Over two days in Norfolk, we brought together installation leaders, industry and state and local partners not just to talk about challenges, but to map out how we solve them together.” 

Alaska Base Highlights Cybersecurity 

Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska hosted a joint cyber/communications engagement and resiliency day, bringing together servicemembers from across the force to strengthen cyber priorities. According to an Air Force report, the event focused on building relationships and sharing expertise while developing emotional intelligence.
