The Defense Autonomous Warfare Group, responsible for the development of drones for the Pentagon, would receive a huge budget increase in the proposed budget for fiscal year 2027, Task & Purpose reported. The funding would increase from $225.9 million it received this fiscal year to nearly $54 billion.
The proposed budget would provide the group with five years to spend the funding, with the option to speed up the process to two years. The influx of funding would be used to increase the industrial base and maintain consistent production lines.
