In response to the growing tension between the Trump administration and NATO allies, the White House has considered moving U.S. troops out of Europe, Military Times reported. No official decision has been made yet.
Trump has recently publicly considered withdrawing from the NATO alliance altogether but has received bipartisan pushback. The issue was originally raised when NATO allies rejected the Trump administration’s plans to gain ownership of Greenland and is being reprised due to a lack of support in clearing the strait of Hormuz.
There are currently more than 80,000 troops stationed in NATO ally countries, though it is not clear how many would be moved.
