After months of delay, the House agreed to Senate-passed plan to fund the Department of Homeland Security, excluding immigration enforcement. Immigration funding will be part of the regular appropriations cycle for the next fiscal year, as AP News reported.
The Trump Administration recently told Congress through a memo that temporary pay for TSA agents was about to run out, which likely spurred action.
“It is about damn time,” said the top House Democratic appropriator Rosa DeLauro (Conn.).
President Trump signed the funding bill into law.
The department has been without consistent funding since Feb. 14, affecting many agencies, including the Coast Guard.
