Missouri Base Hosts Youth Anglers for Catfish Derby 

Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, is set to host a Kid’s Catfish Derby for military children. The event stocked the pond with about 400 catfish, with 20 being tagged and providing outdoor prizes with their capture, according to an Army report. Poles and bait will be provided. Members of the base’s Army Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation team will be at the event to help teach children to apply bait.  

Michigan Prepares for New F-15EX Jets 

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer recently signed a bipartisan funding bill to improve the runways at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, a key upgrade necessary to bring in new F-15EX Eagle II fighter jets. Michigan Advance reported that the bill will provide the installation with $152 million to help move in the new jets before the end of 2028.
