O’Brien, Marks Help Kick Off ADC

May 12, 2026

OLDCC Director Patrick O’Brien hosted a town hall Monday at the ADC50 Summit, sharing information about this year’s DCIP funding cycle and fielding questions about proposals. O’Brien spoke on the department’s history as it celebrates its 65th anniversary this year.

“Communities need to share best practices, they need to get together and talk what works and what doesn’t,” O’Brien said. “You all are charged with taking the fight where it needs to go and protecting the homefront.”

The Summit kickoff was a keynote interview with Assistant Secretary of War for Energy, Installations & Environment Dale Marks, who spoke on the outlook for industry partnerships under Secretary of War Pete Hegseth.

“There is no one-size-fits-all policy,” Marks told attendees. “The policy of the day is to go fast; speed and volume.”
