Wisconsin Base Opens Equipment Park to Community 

Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, hosted community members for their annual Armed Services Day Open House, with attendees visiting the base and learning about the daily life of service members. According to an Army report, the most popular place throughout the day was the base’s equipment park, which housed 70 pieces of historic military equipment from World War II and beyond. 

‘Base Buddies’ Podcast Creates Community in San Antonio 

Military spouse Ley Wright is the host of “Base Buddies,” a podcast focused on creating a community for the military community when they have to move. Military spouses stationed around the world have guested on the podcast to talk about the realities of being a military family. Wright told KSAT that she hoped the podcast could be a way for military families to connect with the community, even if they aren’t yet close to the installation they’ve been moved to.
