Missouri Base Speaks to Community in Walking Town Hall
Installation leaders from Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri walked around the Stonegate neighborhood to hear from community members during their first walking town hall of the year, according to an Army story.
“Walking town halls close the accountability loop by bringing the decision-makers right to the resident’s front door,” Garrison Commander Steven Bartley said. “It completely removes the traditional barriers to communication. Instead of asking busy military families to come to us, we take the command team to them.”
Mississippi to Pay National Guard Tricare Premiums
Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves signed a new bill that would cover National Guard member Tricare insurance premiums for the state’s 12,000 Guard members. Mississippi Free Press reported that the policy will be in place for the next 20 years. Mississippi joins Maryland and Tennessee as the three states paying Guard premiums.
