Wisconsin Base Opens to Community for Open Hours
Fort McCoy, Wisconsin, opened its doors to public visitors over the weekend to celebrate Army Heritage Month and showcase the installation’s 117-year-old history. Visitors toured World War II-era buildings, the equipment park, and historical exhibits, according to an Army report. Open hours at the installation will continue throughout the summer.
Jacksonville Breaks Ground on New Affordable Military Housing
Normandy Cove in Jacksonville, Florida will house 144 affordable apartments, with half being reserved for active-duty service members and veterans. Through a partnership between the Housing Trust Group, Hope4Veterans, and the city of Jacksonville, the $60 million project is set to be completed by early 2027, First Coast News reported.
Jacksonville is one of three military communities designated in the 2026 class of Great American Defense Communities.
