Reps. Mark Alford (R-Mo.) and Veronica Escobar (D-Texas) have introduced the Streamlining Military Infrastructure Act. This legislation would begin a DOW study into expanded use of Intergovernmental Support Agreements for minor construction projects, they announced in a joint press release.  

“For years, the Association of Defense Communities has advocated for expanding the flexibility and use of Intergovernmental Support Agreements as a proven tool for strengthening military installations and the communities that support them,” ADC President Tom Ford said. “We applaud Congressman Alford and Congresswoman Escobar for their leadership in advancing this legislation and look forward to working with Congress and the Department of War to identify opportunities that improve installation resilience, readiness and infrastructure delivery.” 

Alford and Escobar are both members of the Defense Communities Congressional Caucus.
