Grant Helps Fund High School Rocketry Program
A DEVCOM grant from the Armaments Center’s Picatinny STEM program helped fund the nearby Mount Olive High School Air Force JROTC Rocketry team in New Jersey, using a $4,000 grant to get better materials and testing equipment. The team creates rockets for competitions, where teams are scored for how long and far the rocket can travel. According to an Army report, the investment helps build connections with the next generation and foster their STEM interests.
Michigan Base Prepares Infrastructure for New Air Fleet
Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Michigan is receiving funding to improve infrastructure ahead of 21 new F-15 Ex Eagle Two Fighter Jets moving in to replace the installation’s A-10 Warthogs. About $150 million has been invested in improving the runway to accommodate the new aircraft, which are set to arrive in 2028, Click On Detroit reported.
