The Navy is looking for temporary housing options while renovating barracks over the next few years, Business Insider reported. All alternatives, from extended-stay hotels to repurposed existing buildings to RVs and houseboats, are being considered.
In a request for information posted by the Navy, the service is looking for 8,150 beds in the next fiscal year, with more needed through 2030.
“The goal is to find innovative solutions that meet strict quality and safety standards without disrupting critical training and naval operations,” the service said in the announcement.
