Bug Camp Inspires Future Biologists 

At the second annual Bug Camp at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, students got the opportunity to dissect and analyze bugs in a laboratory environment. The Defense Health Agency-sponsored event hosted 13 middle schoolers for a week of learning about vector control and military public health. Students got the opportunity to work directly with professional entomologists at the installation’s laboratory, according to a DHA report. 

Food Truck Serves Hawaii Food Desert 

To help provide more dining options at Fort Shafter, Hawaii, the Army is bringing in a new food truck that will serve soldiers on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Culinary Outpost provides meals for the 500 soldiers at the base who don’t have access to a traditional dining facility, Task & Purpose reported. The meals can also be bought in vacuum-sealed packages to be saved for the rest of the week.
