Calvert Becomes Ranking Member on Defense Appropriations Subcommittee

Rep. Ken Calvert (Calif.) will become the top Republican on the House Appropriations defense subcommittee. The previous holder of that position, Rep. Kay Granger (Texas), is now the top Republican on the full Appropriations Committee.
Rep. John Carter (Texas) will remain the top Republican on the subcommittee for military construction and VA.
Rep. Pete Visclosky (D-Ind.) will chair the defense subcommittee. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) chairs the military construction and VA panel. Rep. Nita Lowey (D-N.Y.) is chair of the full Appropriations Committee.
